Dance Classes

                          BALLET

A ballet combo class introduces dancers to foundational ballet steps and combinations, often blending them with other dance styles like tap or jazz. These classes focus on building technique, musicality, and coordination through structured exercises and creative movement. Students will learn basic ballet positions, steps, and terminology, as well as how to execute combinations with proper form and rhythm. 

Attire: Light pink tights, Black leotard

Shoes: Pink ballet shoes

Costume Fee: $45 child, $55 adult

 

                PRINCESS BALLET

Princess Ballet will incorporate themes, music, or characters from classic fairy tales and stories, often featuring a princess. These classes often focus on building foundational ballet skills while engaging children's imaginations through storytelling and creative movement. Children are invited to wear their favorite princess dress to class.

Attire: Princess dress of choice or pink tights and pink leotard

Shoes: Pink ballet slippers.  (no princess shoes)

Costume Fee: $45.00 (tights are included)

 

             HIP HOP/JAZZ COMBO

This class  blends the structured, graceful movements of jazz with the energetic, grounded steps of hip hop. Students can expect a dynamic class that incorporates elements from both styles, including a warm-up, across-the-floor progressions, and a combination that utilizes learned techniques. The class aims to build coordination, musicality, and confidence while exploring the unique characteristics of each dance form. 

Attire: Pink tights & Black leotard or Black leggings & Black leotard

Shoes: Tan Jazz Shoes

Costume Fee: $45.00 child, $55.00 adult  (includes tights)

 

                  BALLET/LYRICAL

Ballet/Lyrical dance class  blends the grace and precision of ballet with the emotional expressiveness of lyrical dance, often incorporating elements of jazz and modern dance. Classes  begin with a warm-up, followed by barre work and center exercises focusing on technique, strength, and flexibility. Students then learn choreography, emphasizing storytelling through movement and connecting with the music's lyrics. The class aims to develop both technical skills and personal expression.

Attire: Pink tights & Black leotard or Black leggings & Black leotard

Shoes: Tan Jazz Shoes

Costume Fee: $45.00 child, $55.00 adult  (includes tights)

 

                      ACRO/DANCE

Tumble dance classes combine elements of dance and gymnastics, focusing on developing body control, strength, and flexibility through acrobatic movements. Students learn skills like cartwheels, handstands, and other tumbling techniques, often incorporating these into dance routines. These classes emphasize body awareness, coordination, and creative expression through movement. 

Attire: Pink tights, Black leotard, or Black leggings and any color leotard

Shoes: Tan Jazz Shoes

Costume Fee: $45.00 child, $55.00 adult  (includes tights)

 

   MUSICAL THEATRE/TAP COMBO

A musical theatre/tap combo class combines tap dance technique with elements of musical theatre performance, such as acting and singing. Students will develop tap dance skills, learn musical theatre choreography, and potentially explore stage presence and character development. The class is designed to improve rhythm, coordination, musicality, and performance skills.

Attire: Pink tights, Black leotard, or Black leggings and black leotard

Shoes: Black tap shoes

Costume Fee: $45.00 child, $55.00 adult  (includes tights)

Tumbling

Tumbling is a program that combines elements of gymnastics that are used in cheerleading. It focuses on developing foundational skills in both disciplines, including body control, strength, flexibility, and spatial awareness, through drills and exercises. 

This program will focus on two levels of tumbling as follows….

 

Level One: 

Tumbling skills focus on foundational gymnastics and acrobatic movements. These skills include forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and back walkovers. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, body control, and building a solid foundation for more advanced skills. 

Attire: black leggings, leotard of choice

Shoes: Not require

 

Level Two:

Tumbling skills build upon foundational movements, introducing more complex skills like handsprings and combinations. In gymnastics, this includes a cartwheel, handstand, backward roll to push-up, bridge back kick-over, and split leaps, Level 2 introduces standing back handsprings, round-off back handsprings, and combinations of these skills. 

Attire: Black leggings and leotard of choice

Shoes: Not required

    TUMBLING FOR CHEERLEADERS

Dates: September 8,10.15.17,22,24,29   October 1,6,8,13,20,22 (1 classes $11. Per class breakdown) Fee $143

(No class October 15)

 

Level One tumbling skills in cheerleading focus on foundational gymnastics and acrobatic movements. These skills include forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and back walkovers. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, body control, and building a solid foundation for more advanced skills. 

 

Level Two tumbling skills build upon foundational movements, introducing more complex skills like handsprings and combinations. In gymnastics, this includes a cartwheel, handstand, backward roll to push-up, bridge back kick-over, split leap, and 180° turns. In cheerleading, Level 2 introduces standing back handsprings, round-off back handsprings, and combinations of these skills.

Karate

Karate Classes

                         Kenpo Karate

Kenpo Karate classes focus on practical self-defense techniques, emphasizing speed, efficiency, and real-world applicability. Students learn a variety of strikes, kicks, blocks, and joint locks, often incorporating open-hand techniques and pressure points. Classes also include "forms" (prearranged sequences of movements) and exercises to develop muscle memory and practical application. 

Attire: Black Gi/belt/Kenpo Patch

Shoes: Athletic shoes, (no crocs)

Uniform Fee: $50

Testing Fee: $30 to be paid directly to instructor one week prior to test.  DATES TBA

 

  Ninja Sports Agility Fun and Games

A Ninja Agility Karate class, often called Ninja Zone or Ninja Kids, combines elements of gymnastics, martial arts, obstacle course training, and freestyle movement to develop agility, strength, and coordination in children. These classes emphasize discipline, focus, and skill development through activities like flips, rolls, jumps, kicks, and navigating strength and agility courses. 

Attire: Comfortable clothes  (example..leggings, jogging suit,) 

Shoes: Athletic shoes.  (no boots, no crocs, no sandals)

               SPIRIT SQUAD

Spirit Squad is an elite group of performers who perform together, specializing in a style combination of Pom, Jazz, and Hip Hop.  Our Goal is to perform at a select number of local sporting events and promote school spirit and energy.  We emphasize teamwork, synchronization and precision in our movements. 

Local performances to include the following:

One Home football game

Two home Basketball games

Piston’s performance. Date TBA

New York Tour (Memorial Day Weekend 2026)

Attire: Black leggings and a leotard or shirt.  Jazz shoes, hair pulled back

Shoes; Tan Jazz Shoes

Costume Fee: Uniform $45.00 child  $55 Adult ( price includes performance tights.)

Pon poms Fee: $20.00

 

MANTATORY SPIRIT SQUAD MEETING TO GO OVER THE EVENTS AND EXPECTATIONS FOR SPIRIT SQUAD WILL BE DURING THE FIRST CLASS.  At this meeting we will go over extra events, expectations, opportunities and any questions you might have.

 

        TAG ON SPIRIT SQUAD TEAM  

November 3,5,10,12,17,19,  Dec. 2,4  (4 weeks mini session $88)  then you must sign up for Session II in January.

The Tag On Team is for those in Fall sports that would like to participate in this awesome team.  Please plan to attend the meeting Sept. 15 at 5:30 in the Brick Gym.
